October is here and so is the wonderful fall Arizona weather! Daytime temperatures have been in the 80s making it a great time to get outside and visit the Zoo. There is plenty to see and do at the Zoo this month including two fun special events and the return of the FlyWire zipline ride!

The Phoenix Zoo’s annual Boo! At the Zoo event has been a fun family tradition for Phoenix area families for over 20 years and returns this year on October 19 & 20 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.! Come celebrate our Andean bear cub’s first Boo! and spend a fun filled weekend with us as we celebrate Halloween all weekend long. There will be games, music, dancing and plenty of treats for kids and animals alike! See a full schedule of weekend activities by visiting our Boo! At the Zoo event page.

Our second Halloween event, Howl-O-Ween, returns again this year on October 25 & 26 from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. Howl-O-Ween offers a variety of activities that cater to both the brave and the not so brave.  All activities will be broken down into 1 of 3 scare levels, Scare Level 1 being the least scary and Scare Level 3 being the scariest.  There will be a Trick or Treat trail available and even special Night Camps taking place during the event! Learn more about this spooky & fun event by visiting our Howl-O-Ween event page.

Are you ready for some high flying excitement? You can head to the Phoenix Zoo for 300 feet of zip lining fun with the FlyWire zipline ride! Back by popular demand the FlyWire is now open across from the Conservation Center along the Africa Trail. We’ve made even more improvements to the FlyWire this year including increasing the overall length and adding a viewing area. The FlyWire zipline ride supports two people at a time so you’ll be able to race with your friends at speeds up to 20 miles per hour on your way to becoming experienced “zipologists”! $10 per person per ride, riders must weigh between 45 – 250 lbs. Check out our video from last season below to see the FlyWire in action.

With so much to see and do we hope to see you this October at the Phoenix Zoo!
