Wolf Awareness Weekend!

Did you know, the Mexican gray wolf (Canis lupus baileyi), is the smallest, rarest, and most genetically distinct subspecies of gray wolf in North America?
At one time these wolves were found in the mountainous regions of the Southwest from central Mexico and portions of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Just 30 years ago, there were only 5 of these animals left in the wild.
Join us for Wolf Awareness Weekend to learn more about these amazing animals and the recovery efforts being done to help save them. November 28 & 29, 2009 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Arizona Trail near the Mexican Wolf Exhibit.
