Girl Scout Night Camp
Group Night Camps are perfect for your Girl Scout Troop. The camp consists of guided trail hikes, animal discoveries and educational activities. Our diverse offering of Scout or Badge work is suited to fit many needs. The patches that can be earned have different names for different levels. Listed are some activities that could be included for each patch.
Brownies - Try-It's
- Animals: Understanding animals, creature moves, looks mean something, sounds charades
- Ready, Set, Go Camping: roll a bag relay, bandana tricks, storm warning, knowing your knots
- Earth & Sky: hot time in the sun; going, going, gone; sky watching; creatures of the air; what's an eclipse?
Juniors - Badges
- Wildlife: wildlife symbol party, creature feature, we are family, touch me not, staying alive, animal watcher, how was your day
Cadettes and Seniors - Interest Project Patches
These cannot be completed in one night camp.
Scout Leaders decide as to whether an activity meets a requirement, although the Zoo does it's best to meet them. Because what the scouts are earning is official, Scout Leaders have to get the patches from their local Girl Scout vendor, rather than from the Zoo. The "Night Camp" patch that the Phoenix Zoo sells is an unofficial participation patch, and may be worn on the back of the sash or vest.
