Africa Trail
Feel the roar
The Africa Trail showcases many of the most popular animals in the world, including the African painted dog, hamadryas baboon, hyenas, Southern white rhino, as well as lions, cheetahs, giraffes and more!
The Africa Trail is comprised of the Savanna, Predator Passage and a trail that leads past the Arthur L. and Elaine V. Johnson Conservation Center and camel rides.
The Desert Lives trail, diverts off of the Africa Trail from Predator Passage and features desert bighorn sheep and Arabian oryx among the natural buttes.
Safari Snacks is located on the Africa Trail across from the Southern white rhino habitat. Find hot dogs, frozen treats and a variety of other snacks.
Accessibility
The path leading from the Savanna exhibit has a steep uphill section with little shade.
Wheelchair Accessible
We recommend wheelchair users and other individuals with mobility concerns to begin the Africa Trail from the camel rides.

The Desert Lives trail, diverts off of the Africa Trail before and after the lion and hyena habitats, and features desert bighorn sheep and Arabian oryx among the natural buttes.
