Arizona Trail
It's a dry heat
The Arizona Trail is designed to emulate the wildlife and plant life of the state of Arizona. It features several plants native to the Sonoran Desert including the saguaro cactus, and animals such as the coyote, collared peccary (more commonly known as the javelina), mountain lion, bobcat, Sonoran pronghorn and the Mexican wolf.
The Arizona Trail also includes the AZ Aviary and a host of venomous snakes and non-venomous reptiles and amphibians.
We are currently in the middle of constructing our newest habitat expansion, Big Cats of Arizona, which will provide new homes for the Zoo’s jaguars and mountain lions.
